Meet The Pastor
Wayne and Sandy were married on March 18, 1966 in Ardmore, Oklahoma while Wayne was serving a tour in the United States Air Force. When stationed in the Panama Canal Zone, Wayne met the Lord Jesus Christ through an Evangelical Free Church Ministry Outreach to military men and women. This was a life changing experience which began Wayne's lifelong journey with Christ. Following Wayne's military tour, the Maddys lived in Illinois and Oklahoma before moving to Clinton, Iowa where they founded and ran a livestock nutrition company.
Their daughter, JJ, was born soon after the company's birth. Both JJ and the company flourished. In 1998 when the company was sold to a Holmes County, Ohio firm, the Maddys moved to Ohio as a condition of the sale. At that time the company had sales of almost $2,000,000 annually and JJ was entering seventh grade.
On the weekend of January 12, 2001 Wayne went to the Hampton Inn in Massillon for a couple of days to pray, to fast, and to seek the Lord. At that time he heard the Lord say, "Quit your job, move to Massillon, and start a church."
After having received confirmation through several people who knew nothing of the Lord's instructions for Wayne, the Maddys packed up and moved to Massillon.
Wayne and Sandy, with the help of Dan and Erma Hershberger, prayer walked every street in Massillon (approx. 350 miles). They prayed for every business, every church, every home, school, and government office. The prayer walk was started on March 2, 2001 and ended on August 26. Then they drove stakes into the ground at every gate (streets entering the city) to the city proclaiming that Jesus is Lord over Massillon.
Wayne is a graduate of The Sure Foundation Theological Institute. He has a strong compassion for the lost and for those who have fallen away from the church. His desire and focus is to see them restored to God and the Body of Christ. Wayne is constantly pressing toward the goal of, "Making it hard for people from Massillon to go to hell." He believes that the gifts of the Spirit (as described in 1 Corinthians 12, 13, & 14) are still alive and well and will remain until perfection comes. And, we know that perfection has not yet come. Wayne's messages are relevant words for victorious daily living according to God's Word.
Sandy has a BA in education and taught school for several years. She has more recently worked as a proof reader/editor and in purchasing for a distributor of livestock health products. She is an outstanding teacher and a powerful prayer warrior.
Their daughter JJ first prayed the prayer of salvation when she was three. She confirmed that again at the age of six and was baptized at nine. She graduated from Washington High School in 2004 and has recently started attending Stark State College with the intention of transferring to The University of Akron in the near future. She is majoring in photography and web design. JJ currently designs webpages for various organizations and runs June Love Vintage, her vintage clothing e-store. She is an anointed worshipper.
